wxMozilla

Chandler could use wxMozilla as the HTML viewer and editor.

Main developer: Kevin Ollivier.

wxMozilla homepage is here: http://wxmozilla.sourceforge.net/

Status as of March 8, 2004

(Please read the news on wxMozilla homepage first, these are just additions.)

The short answer is that wxMozilla is usable from wxPython, but the usage pattern is not optimal and some functionality is missing.

  • Editing profiles is now supported via the wxMozillaSettings API, but support for switching encodings and text size are not yet implemented.
  • DOM API not wrapped, but Get/SetElementAttribute etc. supported
  • Most common editor functions supported - will likely split interface into wxMozillaBrowser and wxMozillaEditor soon
  • GRE not yet supported, dependent on some Mozilla work but this is not a high priority in the Mozilla project
  • Not yet fully usable through wxHTML2, fairly large amount of work needs to happen, Vaclav Slavik has been helping here
  • Robin Dunn has been helping with integration to wxPython, and wxMozilla is usable from wxPython
