The goals for 0.4A integration point are described in ZeroPointFourPlanning. All those goals were met except for the items in the following sections:

Repository team

  • Repository: Andi met his goals, except for having code reviews -- Ted's going to solicit code reviews via email
  • Queries: Parsing Done
  • Data model: Exportable addresses not done.

Services team

More detail in home page (scroll to status)

  • Parcel loading: done except parcel reloading is very rudimentary
  • Sharing: Still need export to support list attributes other than item refs; finish the WebDAV unit tests
  • IMAP: Finished IMAP downloading except for complex MIME types which require item clouds and other infrastructure; need to get IMAP unit tests working
  • Content Model: Done. Note that date/time attributes work was swapped out for stamping-related issues.
  • Security: Some certificate support checked in (all internal).

Apps team

More detail in today's meeting notes

  • Chrome/sidebar: Need to do code reviews for subview selection; need to finish create/rename collections and OOTB menus
  • WxWidgets: Not finished bakefile estimate
  • CPIA: Need to finish startup unit test, canvas fixes and dynamic container code
  • Summary View: rudimentary on draw handlers not done
  • Detail View: Done except for code review of stamping.
  • Calendar blocks: Done except for various code reviews, and headline editing

Summary

All the teams made it 90% there for 0.4A. A few individuals finished in advance but most left unit testing, code reviews, bug fixing or even minor or partial features undone by the time the build was dropped. We feel that the right thing to do for the next week is to finish up these tasks across the board -- nobody will be left without work to do.

Given that we've been working with some new processes, and higher standards for what constitutes "done", we did really well here. People are still getting used to the amount of work it takes to get their feature called "done" and we came awfully close to meeting everything.

We would like to take one more week to finish 0.4A properly. We think that overall, the team wants to complete 0.4A properly rather than declare the current build to be done but not quite be happy with it.

The status on meeting 0.4A means that we did well enough that we don't have to rethink 0.4B or cut large features. However, as we nail down the detailed plan for 0.4B we'll have to tighten our belts a little to still meet the overall 0.4 dates (which we still feel are reasonable).
