"Meet OSAF" event spring 2003

I'm planning a low-key gathering where OSAF developers and interested community members could meet, see some demos of Chandler, and get to know each other. Rather like a Birds of a Feather session in a conference.

OSAF doesn't have much in the way of travel plans right now. So such an event would be help on the San Francisco peninsula, probably somewhere between Burlingame and Sunnyvale.

If you would be interested and able to attend such an event, please add yourself to the list below. This will give me an idea how many people are in the area and could attend. If you really want to attend but don't live close enough, then I've made a Can't Attend page? where you can say this and maybe let me know where you are located.

Please don't add yourself to the list below unless getting to the San Francisco Peninsula is a realistic option. If you're likely to make it, then please add a separator, yourself and any other info you think might be useful, such as (for example):

  • what aspects of Chandler interest you the most
  • what you would most like to have happen at such an event

Gary Edwards: I definately would attend (I'm located in Redwood City). Most interesting to me would be web application development involving an integrated desktop "XML" productivity environment of OOo, Mozilla, and Chandler. XUL, Jabber, ZODB, wxPython, and wxZUL would be of great interest to me.
Hartti Suomela: I will attend if I don't have any conflicting work activities.
Ariel Gomez-Ortigoza: I will attend if given enough time in advance notice. I am interested in understanding how we can collaborate and in discussing a commercial license.
David Paigen: I will attend. My interest is in knowledge management, for example the item/column structures in Agenda. I am also interested in discussing how, and what, I can contribute to Chandler.
Jonathan Prusky: I will attend. I am particularly interested in creating a sophisticated task manager component
Andy Glew: highly likely to attend - I live in San Jose, not so far, barring a schedule conflict. I have no particular agenda wrt Chandler at the moment, except that I am very interested in PIMs, blurring the boundary between email/news/wiki/to-do lists/etc. I'm interested as a user; would want to contribute if my job load allowed.
Steve Blum: I'd like to attend if possible.
John Michelsen: I'd like to attend. I'm interested in developing packages for Chandler. If you'd like more people to come, send a message to the Bay Area Python interest group mailing list. We meet once a month and most would probably be interested. http://baypiggies.net/ http://baypiggies.net/mailman/listinfo/baypiggies
Lisa Dusseault: I'd like to attend, but I will be at the IETF Jul 12-26. I'm interested in document sharing and instant messaging, particularly standard protocol support. If possible cc' me directly on the announce: lisa@xythos.com
