Scooby Meeting Notes - February 8th 2006

Agenda items:

Progress report on Cosmo

  • Cosmo release of 0.3 may happen sometime in the first week of March.
    • Note: I never said "first week of March" - I said "two weeks of development" but didn't attach start and end dates. The actual timing depends on how many other OMG-super-high-top-priority things pop up. -bcm
  • Testing is the concern if Cosmo releases the same time as Scooby.
  • Scooby/Cosmo integration testing
  • Estimates of 3 or 4 days of integration Scooby/Cosmo integration testing

Progress report on Scooby

  • Scooby will extend it's release date by one week, but will be packaged with the release of Cosmo together in the first week of March
  • The release of Scooby 0.1 depends on features in the release of Cosmo 0.3. It does not make much sense to release Scooby 0.1 before Cosmo 0.3. Future development of Scooby may not require new features from Cosmo therefore future develpment of Scooby doesn't need to be tied to any release of Cosmo.
  • During this time, Scooby team will begin to work on the next milestone.

Is there a decision on packaging 'Snarf'?

  • Also needs QA to test – minimal test
  • Needs documentation two downloads /integrated bundle
  • May need a better name besides Snarf to quickly identify the Scooby/Cosmo bundle

Test plan for 0.1

First draft layout of Scooby landing page

  • Setting expectations for 0.1.
  • There will be a concern for existing AJAX calendars already on the market.
  • Will need to differentiate Scooby calendar compared to others that already exist
  • Should it be a "landing page", perhaps a "project page".
  • If it's only 0.1 then maybe it should not have it's own page yet, but stay on the wiki.
  • Scooby product fact wiki page *work on the meat of the content, mock up 2 different presentation.
  • Take sum elements from chandler landing page, and go to scooby. Take away-->the substance organize & coherent, not so visually glossy.
  • Needs further discussion (more notes)

Mitch's governance draft

  • May be different design/dev. – When do you have commiter status for designer?
  • Ted will act as a board for now. Send any additional questions to ted
  • People do have a responsibility, break deadlocks, people will call for votes, drivers of the project will have the ability to override votes.
